The organisers of DiNG take your privacy seriously and will never use your personal data inappropriately. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and process your personal data, and how, in doing so, we comply with our legal obligations to you under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of 25th May 2018.
How do we collect, use and process your personal data?
The kind of data we collect, how we collect it, use it, and how long we keep it for depends on the nature of our relationship with you. We only collect the data we need in order to carry out the functions of the meetup. We store data securely and only keep it for as long as necessary. Further information can be found below.
Visiting the website
We collect non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Our purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how visitors use our website. From time to time, we may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.
We use cookies to help identify and track visitors, their usage of the website, and their website access preferences. Registering to attend a meetup event
If you register to attend an event through Eventbrite or Meetup we will use the information you provide to contact you about the event and record your attendance at the event. We may contact you to notify you about future DiNG meetup events. You can opt out of these notifications on the event platform you registered through.
Photography and video recordings at events
Photographs and videos are taken of each meetup to use on DiNG's website and social media channels. If you do not want your image to be used for this purpose please let a DiNG team member know.
How do we safeguard personal data?
We have put in place reasonable commercial standards of technology and operational security to protect all information provided by you from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Nightingale holds Cyber Essentials certification which means we are working to/ have the necessary measures in place to safeguard our IT against cyber attack. We are also entered on the data protection register of the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
How can you access, amend or take back the personal data that you have given to us?

How do we store and transfer your data internationally?
We use a number of reputable suppliers for our software and cloud storage solutions and personal data which we gather and we have taken all reasonable steps to ensure that our suppliers are committed to compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
